Australian Academy Award

Nicholas Verso’s The Last Time I Saw Richard, which was developed by Edge City Film’s Paul Welsh for Screen Australia, has won Best Short Fiction Film at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA). Congratulations to Nicholas Verso, producer John Molloy, Mushroom Pictures and the rest of the crew involved.

opens Glasgow Short Film Festival

Ruth Paxton’s Pulse a short commissioned via the New Music Biennal / Commonwealth Games by the Royal Philharmonic Society and produced in association with Edge City Films, will have its World Premiere when it opens the Glasgow Short Film Festival on 13th February 2014.

The film was shot in the iconic Grand Central Hotel Glasgow, by the River Clyde and in Glasgow’s Western Baths, and features a score by Grammy nominated composer Dobrinka Tabakova. The film was produced by Rosie Crerar who previously worked with Ruth Paxton on the award-winning Digicult short Paris/Sexy.

The Last Time I Saw Richard

Developed by Edge City Film’s Paul Welsh for Screen Australia’s Springboard Programme, Nicholas Verso’s The Last Time I Saw Richard and Miranda Nation’s Perception have been nominated for Best Short Fiction Film at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA). Winners will be announced at the end of January.  Congratulations to everyone involved. World Premiere at Berlinale for Springboard Short

Sean Kruck‘s Snowblind, which was developed by Edge City Film’s Paul Welsh for Screen Australia, has been selected for Generation 14plus at Berlinale. This will be its world premiere screening. Congratulations to Sean Kruck, Caroline Barry and the rest of the crew involved.

Perception
plays Clermont-Ferrand Festival

Miranda Nation’s Perception, which was developed by Edge City Film’s Paul Welsh for Screen Australia, will have its premiere screening at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. The festival runs from 31st January to 8th February. This follows its screenings last year at Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival, where it won The Dendy Award for Best Australian Short in June. Congratulations to Miranda Nation and the entire crew involved.
